Home remedy for head louse

Welcome to my article on finding a home remedy for head louse I hope you find it quite useful.

The first thing to do if you suspect you may have an infestation of louse is to properly diagnose yourself or get someone to assist you in doing that, common signs of louse infestation include but are not limited too:

1. An itchy scalp 2. Small red bumps on your scalp often in conjuction with the itchiness 3. If you have a helper which is preferred get them to see if they can see live louse moving around on your scalp, note a magnifying glass may be needed 4. Finding nits which are the eggs of louse. Check on the side of your hairs for small oval shaped specks.

If you have found and are positive that you have nits or lice you have several options, they consist of either combing out the eggs and lice, using a chemical product or alternatively trying a home remedy for the louse. Note with all these methods you still have to comb out the eggs because most of the treatments only kill the living lice.

1. Combing out the infestation is obviously the cheapest method but also the most stressful and time intensive as it may have to be repeated for several days to be positive youve removed the entire infestation of louse.

2. With using chemical anti-louse products, you must exercise caution to not overuse the product because they contain a form of pesticide as their active ingredient. Always follow the directions on the product explicitly when possibly, and remember that you still need to comb out the eggs of the louse with a very fine comb, specialized louse combs are sold at supermarkets and chemists.

3. While drastic the only real method ill discuss for a home remedy for head lice is, completely shaving the head in question, but for most women and the majority of men this is unviable, I discuss a much more viable home remedy for head louse on my blog.

Prevention, better than a cure. Tips for preventing the dreaded louse, simple home remedys for head louse prevention, these can be easily done with little effort:

1. Do not clean your hair more than once a week as louse have trouble gripping to slightly more oily hair and you have a much better chance of preventing them

2. Women and men with long hair should try and where their hair in a tight fashion such as a ponytail or braids as the louse are small creatures they have difficulty travelling long distances.
