Rob was doing very well with EDC Gold in the beginning. He started out as one of the top earners in the company earning over $20,000 a month working very part time.
I found Rob's number through one of his websites on Google. I called him up to ask about EDC Gold and how it works.
Rob told me that one of the methods he used to market EDC Gold was through the David Dubbs Marketing System. I looked over David Dubbs' replicated website and thought it was very convincing.
I signed up under Rob in EDC Gold's cheapest package ("Your New Fortune") so I could get a peak into the company and get a feel for how they run things.
It wasn't long till I started to see something strange begin to surface.
Shortly after I joined the EDC Gold team, David Dubbs changed his replicated website. He added a video showing him in a racy sports car and talking about going to Vegas and "having a good time."
Several people who bought David Dubbs' Marketing System said they weren't pleased. During an EDC Gold training webinar a couple of people complained that they weren't at all thrilled with the new website. They felt the video appealed to a much more immature audience.
Not more than a couple of weeks after David Dubbs changed his replicated site, I saw an ad on Google saying "Top Earner Leaves EDC Gold. Find out why"
I clicked on the ad and noticed that the page looked like my sponsor Rob's, but I wasn't sure. There was no name on the website, just a contact form. (I think Rob was trying to keep his down-line from knowing that he left EDC Gold.) I knew if I asked Rob directly if he left EDC Gold he would tell me the truth. So I called him up.
Danette:
Hi Rob. How are you? I have a question for you. Did you leave EDC Gold?
Rob:
Yes, I did.....Last week.
Danette:
Why? What happened?
Rob:
Well, I just got fed up with the company's willingness to let David Dubbs take over. The David Dubbs Marketing System works well but mostly just for David Dubbs. When people see the website they just want to join under him. So basically all the advertising I was doing with the replicated site was just promoting David Dubbs.
There were several people that I introduced to the EDC Gold. I answered their questions week after week. But when it came time for them to sign up they decided to join David Dubbs. Then when they discovered that David Dubbs didn't have time to help them, they would come back to me and ask me for help.
Not only that, I discovered that David Dubbs was fully qualifying people right when they signed up without having them pass up two sales. That way he could make money off of them every month when they paid for his marketing system....a marketing system that promotes him.
I'm disgusted with the way things have turned out. EDC Gold would be a fine program if they didn't let David Dubbs do whatever he wants.
After talking to Rob, I knew that I had done the right thing by not jumping into EDC Gold too quickly. After attending just a few training calls, I had a funny feeling about the people who run EDC Gold.
Fortunately, right about the same time, I found a group of people who have a marketing system that really does work. The reason it works is because it teaches you how to promote YOU AND your product. That way, when you advertise, you create a relationship with your customers. That's much more powerful than putting out the same replicated site that everyone else is using.
I didn't join this new company right away though. I did the same with this company as I did with EDC Gold. I held back for a month and asked a bunch of questions and listened in on the training calls. When I saw that the marketing system was working for everyone (not just the top person) I joined. Now it's working for me too.
