Stress, agony, pain...these are words that shouldn't describe your training sessions. If they do, then you are not doing the right exercises. Life is stressful enough (for most people), so why would you want to add on to the stress by participating in an extremely agonizing training session each day?
It's a proven fact that you get more out of your training sessions if you enjoy your exercises. People tend to give up easily if their training is hard or difficult. But don't get me wrong, sometimes (especially when starting out) it will be hard and you will feel pain in whatever muscles you are trying to strengthen. But if you continue to train those same muscles, eventually you'll get stronger and the pain will go away.
In order to enjoy your training, you must do a little research. Search the web to find out which exercises work the best and take less energy and time to do. Believe it or not, there are plenty of easier and less time-consuming exercises out there that will get you the same results as if you were doing the harder, more extreme exercises.
The lesson here is to train smart, not hard. I'm pretty sure you'd be pissed if you spent hours each day strengthening your body, and then you come across someone who looks just as good as you do and did half the hard work to get there. Don't let that happen. Get ahead of the rest of the pack in the shortest amount of time. Then you'll be the one pointing and laughing at them.
