How I Lost 30 Pounds in 60 Days

| Ryan McMillan

I started my journey in June of 2006. I weighed in at 210 pounds. I now weigh a much more comfortable 180 pounds. I am not going to tell you it was easy, but I am also not going to tell you that it's impossible. It certainly is attainable, but you just need to be very focused on your goals.

I took a long look at what I was eating every day and how much I was exercising. I was eating junk, basically going out to eat every day for lunch and then I would come home and eat a large meal that my wife had prepared. I work on computers for a living so I never really got any exercise. I decided that in order to start losing weight I needed to work on cardio 4 days per week and drastically change my diet.

Here are a few of the keys to my success.

1. Break the caffeine habit. I was drinking between 6 and 12 diet sodas per day. What I didn't realize is this was probably dehydrating me to a point where I was constantly reaching for another. Caffeine has also been proven to slow weight loss.

2. 2,000 calories per day diet. I was probably consuming about 4-5 thousand calories per day. Pushing this down to 2,000 was difficult, but as the days turned into weeks it got to be habit.

3. No eating after 6 PM. After dinner was done, I would not allow myself to have any snacks.

4. Weigh in each day. A lot of diets tell you not to weigh yourself each day. I think that this is a mistake. By weighing yourself each day you can more closely monitor what is going on with your body. For example if you gained a few pounds over the weekend you would see this right away and work even harder to get those pounds off.

5. Change up your workouts. If you do the exact same thing every day you will definitely get bored and probably stop working out or skip workouts. I liked to change it up each day, run one day, bike another, elliptical machine another, etc.

I hope that these few tips can help you get started on your journey to a more healthier you. If you would like more information on weight loss you can check out my FAVORITE program Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle at http://www.w5481.net/go/burnthefat
