b>Closet Door Secrets

Your closet in the bedroom can be utilitarian or quite a style statement. Since the doors make the first impression, they have to be meticulously chosen. The type of door will depend on the size of the closet and room space available.

Swinging Doors

The swinging door can be used when there is sufficient space for it to open outward. It is convenient and tidy as it is on a hinge and allows storage area on its inner surface for shoe racks or hanging bags. It is also a good place to mount a mirror.

Bi-Fold Doors

In a smaller bedroom, it might not be advisable to use a swinging door because of the space it takes to open the door. In that case bi-fold doors are more convenient. Bi-fold doors are actually two narrow doors hinged together so that they fold as they open.

Sliding Doors

Sliding doors are the most expensive, but are often nicer in appearance than other closet doors. A pair of them is usually installed with rollers as they roll on the track below and are balanced from the above end. However, only a part of your closet is accessible at one time as the other door obstructs the other end.

Whatever door you choose, keep in mind the dimensions of your room and the space available. Choose one that keeps your room looking spacious while giving you optimum benefit.
