HOW TO GET RID OF THOSE PESKY WARTS?

14 Mar 2008 02:22:53
| Jinky C. Mesias

Warts are very common among frogs however there are some individuals who acquire them for no reason at all. So how can we acquire warts? Can we acquire warts by simply touching a frog or a lizard maybe? Before answering these questions it is always best to define just what are these so called warts. Warts are those harmless skin growths that are caused by virus. These warts can often times grow on almost any part of the body including the face, along the forearms or even on the finger. Moreover, warts are easily noticed since they have a rough surface on which tiny, dark dots are often present. However, for pressure areas like the palms as well as the soles they often appear flat. The warts on the sole are called plantar warts which grow inward and such is due to the pressure placed on the feet especially when in a standing position as well as walking positions. These warts on the feet are often times painful. Warts just like the frogs from which they are commonly attached to are both annoying and can be a great source of discomfort. In fact, warts do bleed especially when injured. However, these common warts never grow and developed into a cancer. But the downside in having warts is that warts are contagious and may somehow spread to other parts of the body or to other people which you may be in contact with. Nevertheless, some individuals are very prone in acquiring warts while some are simply immune to them. The good thing about warts is that they simply disappear especially in young children however the same doesn’t apply to adults. The warts found in adults are sometimes located in the genitals and are often times transmitted during sexual intercourse. Moreover, there are no perfect procedures in treating warts since most of the present day wart treating procedures are unable to totally eradicate the wart virus. The medical wart treatment procedure consists of destroying the outer layer of the skin where the wart grows and this is done by means of surgery, laser ablation, electrocautery which makes use of a weak electric current, freezing the warts with nitrogen or by means of salicylic acid. The choice onto what treatment to use depends entirely on the judgment of the dermatologist. However, there is still the possibility of new warts developing even if the rest of the existing warts are destroyed. These new warts can be destroyed only when they are large enough to be seen.
