Windows Administration is considered as the management of system resources, network configurations, network peripherals (such as printers), monitoring of network connections, and upgrading system software in order to support and maintain end user operations. Windows Administration has become more complex as environments have become more distributed, employee turnover increases, the number of objects to be secured increases, and security intrusions have risen. This job is carried out by professionals called Windows Administrators. The job of Windows Administration involves providing round-the-clock full-time support for Windows systems.

The Windows Administrator must posses the ability to install and configure new Windows workstation along with the ability to design the appropriate configurations, set up a Windows domain server, and integrates Windows machines with other servers.
