Get Married and Honeymoon on a Cruise Ship

| Greg Hansward

A wedding is one of the most special events in someone's life and preparing for it such as choosing a menu or colors or invitations can be a fun and enjoyable task. But, there are still remaining tasks to be handled such as the budgeting, arranging for a minister and finding reception entertainment. Though enjoyable, planning a wedding can also become stressful at times.

Have you considered a wedding cruise? A wedding on a cruise ship is a great idea and likely much easier to organize. You can have the ceremony on board, the ceremony and reception and even include the honeymoon if you want to spend even more time on a luxury cruise. This option may be easier on the budget as well making it even more of an attractive choice. Many cruise lines are fully equipped to organize a wedding on the ship and will handle all of the relevant wedding planning items. The wedding cruise planner can cost a few thousand dollars, but with some searching you can find offers for impressive weddings for a thousand dollars or less. Keep in mind, though, that the price includes your honeymoon vacation as well to amazing places such as Denia in Spain.

Obviously, it cannot be expected of guests to purchase cruise tickets and sail with you to celebrate the wedding. The cruise lines allow guests to board for the ceremony and a few hours for the reception. Sometimes there is the option to either keep the ship at the port or actually sail out on the water during the wedding. At times, though, the ship will remain at the port for purposes of the marriage license and the question of where the marriage actually took place, i.e. in the country or international.

Cruise lines will do try to turn this fantastic wedding destination into a special event you will love to reminisce about in the future. Cruise lines such as Carnival Cruises and Princess Cruises, for example, offer wedding packages at reasonable rates. Princess Cruises will add that special touch before the wedding and arrange for things like romantic live music, candles and flowers to make the event a truly memorable time for the bride, groom and guests.

Why make this special time stressful when is does not need to be? Keep things as simple as possible by opting for a cruise ship as your wedding destination. Look for a wedding package that best fits your budget, let the cruise line's wedding planner handle the details and enjoy the pre-wedding time with your loved one!
