Is bacteria lurking in YOUR make-up?

If your make-up contains anything but pure mineral pigments from the earth, you may have bacteria lurking in your make-up. Read the ingredients. See if the list contains oils/lipids, vitamins, bismuth oxychloride, corn starch (sometimes refered to as "zea mays"), or rice powder. These serve no purpose other than to act as harmful additives that can cause breakouts, inflame sensitive skin conditions like rosacea and acne, and cause fine lines and wrinkles to be more apparent, due to the make-up depositing into the lines.

Mineral powder make-up is swiftly beoming the cosmetic of choice among savy consumers, who are throwing off the notion that their skin must suffer mask-like cosmetic preparations. Woman everywhere are demanding more. More coverage, more sun-protection-factor, more skin-friendly ingredients! We want cosmetic companies to answer the demand for make-up that allows our skin to breathe, without cloging pores or causing rashes. We want make-up that is pure; unable to grow bacteria, yeasts, molds, etc. This is not too much to ask.

Mineral powder make-up, which leave off harmful additives and fillers, are all the rage. And for good reason. They make everyone look as though they have great skin, are healing, and one shade will fit a wide variety of skin tones. Mica refracts light away from blemishes and skin imperfections giving the soft glow of healthy, blemish-free skin and a smooth complexion. They are water-resistant, have a high natural sun-protection factor, and are free from food-grade additives. They are unable to clog pores, because they lie on top of the skin in thin, over-lapping sheets that allow your skin to breathe. Beacause zinc is frequently found in most mineral cosmetics, they tend to reduce irritation and redness, as well as clear breakouts caused by other makeup. Who doesn't want that? Throw out that old make-up today! Say "no" to harmful additives. Get the fresh, clean look of healthy skin. Seek out companies which offer bismuth-free alternatives to messy and outdated liquid or cream foundation makeup.
