Essay writing is not a one-sentence story. Both high school essay writing and college essays depend on paragraph writing. Why do you need them? Because a good story doesn't have only one side. It has several issues. All of them are parts of one general topic called an essay writing theme. Actually, there are several reasons for paragraph writing. First of all, by writing a paragraph you let your readers know about the beginning of a new thought. Let's say, you are writing an essay about pros and cons of the school uniform. You can see from the heading that there will be at least two parts to your essay paper. And you just can't afford to mix them in one paragraph. Second reason for writing a paragraph is to interest your reader. What do you feel when you open a book and see a big text that is divided neither by paragraphs, nor by subheadings? To speak truly, my first intention is to close the book. Only Agatha Christy had the right to write looong-looong paragraphs. She knew that they will be read; moreover, her reader desperately wants to find out who the murderer is! But even by doings so, she still used paragraph writing. When writing essays, it's good to remember about the hooks - those first sentences that catch the reader. It takes time to learn how to write catchy sentences. To begin with something, think about your topic. Some people prefer using mind maps. It might be a good idea for you, too. By doing so, you divide your essay writing into several subtopics, each of which can be unfolded in a separate paragraph writing. Now think about paragraphs. Take a few colored sheets of paper, and write down your thoughts as to every separate paragraph. They can sound clumsy, detached from one another, but you will at least have a basic idea of how your paragraph writings are going to look like. Now think about the factual material for essay paper. Proofs are an important part of essay writing, but they have to serve as answers to your questions. Even an amazing finding or a good fact can be a disaster if it is detached from the main body of your essay paper. Look into your notes and list your ideas in the order that you think unfolds your topic best of all. Now distribute facts between these ideas. When the preparations are done, start writing paragraphs. Make sure to enclose only one main thought into one paragraph writing. Don't leave out the topic sentence - the one that introduces the problem to the reader. Also, check that you've answered all the possible questions in this particular paragraph writing. Finally, write a closing sentence. It puts a dot in your paragraph writing, and indicates that you are ready to move on to a new issue. When you put your essay writing together, go back for a final revision. See if anything is there that can spoil the whole construction. If you see extra ideas that don't fit into the topic, get rid of them. Your essay writing should move smoothly from one point to another, leaving no blank spots in readers' comprehension. Check your spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Make sure each sentence has a subject. See if your subjects and verbs agree with each other. Check the verb tenses of each sentence. Finally, make sure that each sentence makes sense. If everything in your essay paper looks perfect, and you feel absolutely satisfied with your paragraph writing, than it's time to hand in your work.
