A retired Oregon woman has won her second new car in nine months.
In June 2006, Claudette Osborn of Grants Pass, a retired state revenue agent who works part-time inspecting rental properties, drove home a $30,000 Saturn Sky convertible after playing the penny slots at the Spirit Mountain Casino.
The most recent addition to her garage, a $20,000 Volkswagen Beetle, came in a drawing at a casino on February, this year.
Claudette and Dale, her husband, headed to Seven Feathers Casino in Canyonville,
for a Valentine's Day dinner and some gambling. She was one of five finalists in the prizes, Claudette was last to choose. The other contestants selected boxes that contained money prizes of about $500 each, therefore Osborn picked up the remaining box and she knew she had won the car.
"It's the first time on Valentine's Day I got a decent present!" said the lucky winner.
She isn't sure what she's going to do with her second new car.
She sold the first car, a Saturn Sky convertible, bought a used Toyota and set aside some of the cash for taxes. She says she'll let her new Beetle sit in the garage for awhile while she thinks about it.
"It drives really nice and it's a beautiful little red car. But I love my blue Camry. I'm going to let this one sit in the garage awhile and think about it."
