There are many ways to generate a ton of traffic to your website but how many of those really work? We have all seen surf for hits, safelists, search engine submitters, and all sorts of viral marketing traffic generating mumbo jumbo. Do any of them really work? Maybe, but for the time you put in it sure doesn't seem worth it to me.

So what are we supposed to do to drive real, targeted traffic to our sites? Well there are several good ways to drive good traffic but I want MASSIVE traffic...so I write articles.

You heard right. I simply write articles to gain massive traffic. In fact I will let you in on a little secret...I am writing this article with the ulterior motive to drive traffic to my site :) Of course I want to give you good content but in exchange I am looking for traffic. See how that works?

People will love it when you write them good content and pay you in return by a visit to your site! It works great for both sides. So there are a few very important things to remember to do this right. Doing these things will ensure that not only will you generate good traffic but you will create a very viral form of traffic that keeps growing.

First of all by using viral marketing tactics you need to ensure that you have good content. When you write your article it can not be an ad. You know the difference right? Don't market to people...inform them. Teach them. This will get your article passed around for years to come.

Secondly you want to become the expert in the field that you are writing in. You may not know everything about your field but you must know as much as possible about your field. My field happens to be viral marketing so I can write intelligently about it. You can do the same about your topic.

Finally you will want to use keywords in your article that have to do with the website you are driving traffic too. For example if you read over this article you will see that I have used the term viral marketing a few times and threw the word viral in there quite a bit. You need to be careful though because you don't want to just fill your article with junk. Only use your keyword when it is appropriate to do so.

So now you know how to go about writing your article, you know it will drive massive traffic, but how do you get it into the hands of thousands of people who will spread it around like a viral inferno?

Conceivably, you could do it by hand. I think that might take you ages though :) Trust me when I started online out 6 years ago I tried doing it manually...it isn't fun!
