Today I have a new email today pointing me to Jack Canfield and how he can relay to me the principles behind being a success. Now I say this is doomed to failure.
To explain I can quite simply quote from 'The Secret' - 'If you think you are poor, hey presto, the Universe says your wish is my command and you remain poor' (not word perfect but as good as). Now it is not hard to see the fundamental flaw with their premise - to seek success you must believe that you are not successful; therefore the Universe says 'your wish is my command...'
Stop looking to be a success in the world 'out there' and give gratitude for the success that you ALREADY are. There is not one thing in the world that you can own, nor one thing you can keep indefinitely. All measures of success are limited because someone will have more, be more etc... These are attributes of the mind, not YOU.
If you wake up today you are a success.
YOU ARE SUCCESSFUL because YOU are YOU, nothing to be added or taken away.
.
YOU are such a marvellous creation that NO ONE knows how or why you are here. Certainly we can point to principles of cause and effect (thinking then reality) but this is done with the mind, the very thing that you are getting mixed up with (besides even this seems rather simplistic, today's explosion of technology has come in the most briefest of historical timescales that it doesn't take much to see there is something else involved).
Now don't get me wrong, I am caught up in this roundabout of wanting this and then I will be happy, I have read the books and watched the films but something for me does not quite ring true. It seems that I am saying that I got here and now I have to prove myself, my belief is that getting here is plenty - nothing left to prove. I base this on the assumption that the source behind putting this form here knew what it was doing.
There is the mind to use and it appears to be sensible to get to know the correct use for it. The best way is look on it as tool; the better you learn to use the tool for its designed purpose, the better the creation it makes. Positive thinking appears to be one way of using this tool but I would suggest the best way is that of meditation. In a broad sense everything moves out of stillness so perhaps there is much to gain from being still?
Where does that leave us? As OBSERVORS. I believe that we can view the world as a plaything. I am not going to say that the Ferrari's and beautiful women do not seem to me to be a more enjoyable play but ultimately that's all it would ever be.
Remember YOU and I are a success - ENJOY
