If you are like me, you are one of those people who doesn't like plodding up and down the high street and then back again looking for that special item but wanting to find the best price. You know don't you that as soon as you have bought it, you will walk around the corner and see it cheaper in another shop.

One of the great joys of the internet, on the other hand is that it allows us to shop around quickly and easily, without even leaving our own home. It is seldom now that we ourselves now buy anything without checking out the online shopping price first. I would much rather do this first even if I do end up going out too buy it, at least I know before hand where I am going to get it from and go straight there.

As well as simply buying those special treats, such as clothes, shoes and those nice little extra bits, I can buy gifts, books, even pet food cheaper and have it delivered directly to me, often the next day! Not only that while I am online shopping I can check out things like my car insurance renewal quote or my mortgage payments. Effectively I can save myself a fortune. How many people just pay their renewals when they arrive with 'you don't need to do anything' written on them 'we will renew automatically'? Of course you need to do something, we all know companies such as car insurance companies offer all sorts of special deals to get your new custom. So much so, it is worth changing every year!

We can even find the cheapest ways to pay with all the best finance and credit deals, without being face too face with someone trying on the 'hard sell'.

Next time I need a spot of 'retail therapy', I'll be putting the kettle on and pulling up a chair.

Perhaps I will never go out again now that I have discovered online shopping!
