   Adware

Beyond a doubt you have been the subject of adware if you are connected to the internet for any length of time. Adware is annoying and problematic. It can really get in the way of you enjoying the time you spend online. But, adware can be more dangerous than you think, especially if it turns out to be spyware and not adware. But, regardless of what it is, you want it off of your computer and getting that to happen can be somewhat difficult in itself.

Adware is software that is downloaded to your computer without your realizing it. Adware usually enables pop up ads as well as banner ads to be displayed on your computer. The major problem with adware is that too much of it can cause your computer to run slowly and eventually not run correctly.

Adware is often used interchangeably with spyware. The difference between the two is serious though. In spyware, you are not downloading ads but you are unknowingly downloading software that can track what you are doing online as well as gather and send information such as personal information to others online. You won't even know it is there and doing this either. Spyware is much more of a security risk for you, but both adware and spyware are annoying and spell trouble to anyone that has them on their computer.

Do You Have It?

Do you have adware on your computer? If you are online for any length of time, use email, browse web pages, download things, or open files, you probably do have adware. Another sign that you have things infecting your computer is that the computer often begins to run slower. Think of it this way. If you had to run two programs and four adware programs at once, you would work slower at each task because it is harder to manage that many items at once. Sometimes, though, if you have too much adware or spyware on your computer, it can cause it to crash or become very difficult to use.

Getting Rid Of It All!

One of the great things about the internet is that there are any number of solutions to help you get rid of your problem. For example, if you have these adware or spyware problems, you have the ability to have them removed. There are a number of ways in which you can do this. Here, we'll touch on several of them. What you use will be determined by how bad your adware or spyware problem is, how much of a budget you have, and what level of expertise that you have when it comes to computer literacy. Also, we will talk about how you can safely protect yourself and your computer from additional instances of adware and spyware getting onto your computer.

Your Options

 First of all, you can always take it in and have it taken care of for you. Of course, this is likely to the be the most expensive way to take care of your adware problem, but if you don't want the hassle and want to insure it is taken care of, this is the way to go.

 There other solutions though. For example, there is a wealth of programs available online that can help you. These programs will run as a virus scan would. They pick up things that look like they could be adware or even spyware. After the scan is over, you can choose to allow the program or to block them. This can help you immensely. They are fairly inexpensive and offer you the ability to upgrade them as needed as well. Most will work on both spyware and adware.

 Your next line of defense is to use an adware and spyware blocker. These too are similar to a virus program. When they are turned on and working, they provide you with protection. If you unknowingly attempt to download something that seems to be adware or spyware, they will alert you so that you can decide whether or not you want the adware program on your computer. These too are set up to continuously upgrade assuming you get the right ones.

 Another option that you can use is through your internet service provider. Some of the companies out there now are offering adware and spyware protection programs to their customers. Assuming they are updated and run effectively, this can be an option for you to consider as well.

The point is that you just do not need adware and spyware holding you back. The good news is that you can get rid of it and keep it gone by using effective software and by being careful when you are on the web.
