To repaint some wall or the whole room, maybe it is the most dramatic way. But, everyone who has held a paint roller in his hand knows what a hassle this is and how much patience does it take. There is a cleaner and easier way to transform some boring living space into a pure spectacle.

Besides the colour, light is one of the best instruments for changing the appearance and the mood of a living space. In doing so, one must have in mind what is the source and the colour of the light and for what purpose certain room is used.

Above a dining table, certain lamp which will provide clear yet non intrusive light to a table surface is a good choice.

By doing so, you can play with colours of the bulbs but be aware that coloured light will change the appearance of the food you are serving.

Something that can be far more interesting than the sole content on the table is the shape of the lamp you choose.

It is advisable that the chosen lamp is spectacular, that it is discussed not only during the dinner but also after. We want the lamp to be the main ,,gossip" your guests will spread around.

The role of that kind of lamp, considering today's technological growth, many beauties can play. But there is one master whose fantasy is without competition in the world of design. Tord Boontje.

Since he drew a pink cow on his sister's bedroom wall when he was two, his path was evident. At 18, he was selling glasses made of perforated aluminium on the streets of Paris and few years later; he was designing glasses and other accessories for Alexander McQueen.

Companies like Moroso, Habitat, Artecnica, Bardelli fights over him. His works can be found in MoMA and Victoria and Alber Museum. Is there a better reference than this one?

What is equally important is that Boontje takes special care that his designs are not available only to the rich.

You won't go wrong if you choose Boontje's lamp. It doesn't matter if it is ,,Icarus", a subtle lamp which evokes Greek myths, ,,Midsummer lamp" fascinating like a bouquet of ever fresh flowers, ,,Garland" for which you're not sure if it is a sculpture or lamp but you are sure you must love it, or ,,Shadow" which tells tales on your room's walls.
