While pain is inevitable, some of the pain that you may be going through is avoidable. You can control the circumstances in which you feel pain because a great amount of pain is in your head. Feelings of negativity, judgment, and resistance are examples of ways in which you can create unnecessary painful experiences in your life. How do you go from a mentality of pain to a powerful one? There are dozens of ideas you can follow, especially because every person has a unique set of circumstances and opinions that create pain.
Most people, though, can follow simple guidelines:
1. Leave the past behind. You cannot change what happened, but you can continue to focus on the present moment in order to alter your future.
2. Stay away from negative energy and negative people. I have said this before. If your present company provides nothing good, rid yourself of it, and move on.
3. Eliminate fear from your life. If you remain focused on the present moment instead of on the past or future, your fear will disappear. When you have no anticipation of any pain or danger, you don't fear. When you expect pain, you become fearful and invite pain in.
4. Find ways to maintain your inner peace. When you are peaceful, you are in touch with your inner-self and very much focused on the present moment. When you are at peace, nothing bothers you--not the past, not the future. All that is important is the moment of bliss that you are enjoying. Make those times common in your life.
5. Trust that you will find your own voice and that you can create the life you are meant to live. Trust that all the resentment, pain, fear, and regret you may feel or may have felt is temporary and will soon pass to give room for compassion, forgiveness, love, and peace.
