   Small business can outsource too

22 Feb 2008 03:51:33

Small- and medium-sized businesses are increasingly outsourcing new positions to workers overseas, to the consternation of labor unions everywhere. Once considered a measure used only by large companies, outsourcing has now become a cost-effective option for smaller firms as well.

"If you contract an Indian firm to design your website or develop software or staff your back office work, you will be operating at a sixth of the cost". This is almost a well know fact among the large size companies who hopped on to the bandwagon long back. But, "What most people don't know is that small- and medium-sized companies can outsource, and receive the same quality of work they would get in the United States".

We, digiBlitz Technologies Inc (www.digiblitz.com), is a Falls Church, Virginia based IT and outsourcing services Company having a big offshore center in Chennai, India. We have been providing outsourcing and IT services for various US based tiny, home based, small and midsize companies ever since the company's inception in 2001.

Big companies often send over teams of consultants to liaison with companies in India. But, that's just not necessary anymore. Email and Internet-telephone technology allow smaller firms to communicate seamlessly with companies overseas. "So long as you are prepared to work with outside team, there's no difference between dealing with digiBlitz and the one down the block. DigiBlitz may be in Chennai, but for practical purposes, we're just a phone call away."

Today, a Silicon Valley employer has to pay around $8,000 a month to keep its tech specialists. That includes the cost of salary, benefits, software, taxes and real estate. An IT specialist from digiBlitz, Chennai, India, only costs around $1500 per month. "It's a win-win situation. U.S. companies can lower their operating costs, so there will be more new kind of jobs in the United States and a higher standard of living for American families". "At the same time, people in India are being lifted out of poverty."

In the current world of growing global competition, outsourcing is a best strategy to count on and stay ahead of the competition.
