Getting High Page Rank Sites To Link To Your Site-Part One

22 Feb 2008 03:51:01

The biggest craze on the internet today is linking between sites. Many webmasters spend many long hours searching for links to their site. Searching for links is not so much fun, actually, it could turn into a nightmare. You can search and search and with a little bit of luck, possibly come up with a site that links back to your site. That is, of course, if you link to their site first. An important thing to look for are links attained from high Page Rank sites. Unfortunately for the newcomer, it is next to impossible. This is true because webmasters are very, very picky on which sites they choose to link their websites with. Be prepared to receive more rejections than acceptances, especially if you are just starting out. Do not fall into the trap of countless hours of link searching, it could all be a waste of time.

Now, it is even possible to buy links to your site, however, this can be quite expensive. If you are willing to pay for links, the cheapest place to go to is eBay. Type in 'links' or 'backward links' in the search bar of eBay.com homepage. You will be surprised at how many people are selling links. Prices range anywhere to up to $50 for a PageRank of 6 to 8. Keep in mind that this link will only last a month. When that month is completed, you will have to start over again, and of course, pay again. Another thing to remember is that these sites may not even be related to your site at all. This means that if you get traffic from their site it is considered untargeted traffic. For this reason, it is important to be on topic or link only related sites.

Example Let's say you have a website on shoes. It simply makes sense to link back and forth with sites that are related to shoes. This is targeted linking. If you request a link from a sporting goods site, would you think these two sites are related in any way. Of course they are, if you think it through creatively. Every market can have a link back to another industry, you simply need to find the connection. So many of the most popular items today were unheard of years ago because it did not seem to be a popular request. But once creativity was brought in, many of these items are sought after by millions of people.

Any site with a PageRank is worth linking to. There is, however, a secret to ensure that this topic is related to your site. The higher you aim for in PageRank, the more difficult it is to achieve a link back to your site.

Here's the trick. Good content. That's it. Webmasters hunger for good quality content that will be valuable to their readers. Once you post a good article, you will find many links back to your site. That is just the way it goes. Without even having a link to their site, you'll have new traffic. Keep up the good content and you will be considered an expert in your field and site owners that once didn't want to link to your site will be doing so, for free. Just remember, all you need is catchy, informative, powerful content and webmasters will be lining up to link to your site.

How To Search For Links

There are many ways to search for a link. The first way, of course, is by using search engines. Simply type in the keyword of your industry in the search box and watch the results you get. Then type the keyword followed by 'add url' or 'add site'. Use some common sense and carefully think about what the webmaster will ask for when he wants a link to the site. It will be to either add or submit site. This is why we use these at the front of the keyword. When using it at the end of the keyword, it will produce different results. For example: add url boots boots add url

You can then go even further into your search by using other keywords to obtain other sites: shoes boots cowboy boots casual boots apparel, etc.

I think by now you are getting the picture.

You will then be asked for links directing you back to their first site, before they accept your site. It is always smart to visit the sites you want a back link from. This will give you positive results. For example, let's say you are in the cooking industry and you want backward links. You will type the keyword in the search box. You will then see the top ten entries for that particular keyword. Then you will enter the site which is on top of the list. Remember the Google toolbar, click on the 'I' icon, followed by 'backward links'. You will then see how many sites that site has linked back to them. It is probably hundreds. Now think about it, if hundreds of other sites are linking to the top site, then can you imagine the possibilities that they will in turn link back to your site. The possibility is about half. What you will need to do is to go to each site and request a link back to yours. For maximum results, follow their submission guidelines, for each site will vary. Most often, the site will want to know the topic of your site and will want to see it prior to approval.

There is a website that is a useful tool to use to check popular links. The site is http://www.linkpopularity.com. After entering this site, enter the domain name that you are checking then click on "tell me my popularity". You will then get a list of results from Google, MSN and Yahoo. You can access the number of back links to the site by clicking on each one. You will also have the possibility of getting a link also.
