He named it red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. Colors flow in waves of varying length. A beam of light has frequency, wavelength and energy in it. In the spectrum the wavelengths are very narrow which ranges from 400 nm at the end of indigo to about 700 nm at the end of red. Lights that we cannot see like radio waves, microwaves and x-rays fall on either end of the visible spectrum of light.

Color is very compelling this is the reason why it is regarded as the most powerful design tool of all.
